Six Things a Man Can Do

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

MW Editor’s Note.  Mentoring Warriors welcomes David Nairn to the tribe. David is a strong young man in his twenties who has experienced the ravages of a life lived outside of God. Through Jesus capturing his heart, David has set out to challenge other men to live not by lies but by the very truth of who God created them to be.  Check out these six things a man can do. David lives in Scotland.  Welcome David!

1. Seek first the Kingdom.

I myself have been convicted that I need to put Christ first. Before my phone, before my business, before my family, before everything else. God needs to be first.

2. Defeat lust.

One thing I’m working on right now is attacking lust head-on. It crept back into my life in 2025, and I want it gone for good. Becoming closer to God starts with conquering lust.

3. Eat real food.

Real food improves your energy, your hormones, and your physique. If you want to look and feel like a man, you need to eat like a man.

4. Memorise Scripture.

Having scripture memorised takes literally 5 minutes a day, so don’t tell me you don’t have time. Bible verses will keep you grounded and connected to God, and give you fuel to fight the fire.

5. Prayer walks.

One of my favourite things to do is walk and pray at the same time. Early in the morning, get out for a walk, and pray to God. Let the Holy Spirit guide you. I feel these are better than praying in my bed, etc.

6. Enjoy the process.

2026 is going to be what you make it. Practice gratitude, even on days you don’t make as much money or don’t have a lot to eat in the fridge. Even on the days when family members pass on, or when you lose your job. Praise God for it all.

Warrior On!

MW Editor’s Note:  Regardless of your age, what David offers here are great steps in furthering a real life in God.  Experiencing real manhood, not the synthetic type our society often pushes on us, takes courage. The ultimate goal of real manhood is to imitate Jesus Christ in all you do, say, and how you carry yourself.
